Our Sixth Form curriculum is built around destination-focused pathways. Students follow the pathway that best meets their needs and ambitions, while maintaining flexibility to access elements from other pathways where appropriate.
Students work towards nationally recognised qualifications, including GCSEs, BTECs, and other Level 2 and Level 3 qualifications. Alongside academic achievement, students develop independent learning skills, self-management strategies, and the confidence required to progress into further education, higher education, apprenticeships, or employment.
Students spend time developing the practical, social, and employability skills necessary for adult life. Students work towards relevant vocational and personal development qualifications while gaining valuable experience in areas such as independent living, community participation, travel training, financial literacy, and workplace readiness.
At Rowan High School, preparing students for their next steps is at the heart of everything we do. We support students in exploring a range of future destinations, including further education, higher education, supported internships, apprenticeships, training programmes, and employment opportunities.
We have established strong partnerships with colleges, training providers, employers, and community organisations to ensure students receive the guidance, experiences, and opportunities needed to make informed decisions about their future.
Each student benefits from a personalised transition programme, enabling them and their families to feel confident, informed, and supported throughout the transition process.
We encourage students to become confident self-advocates, equipping them with the skills to communicate effectively, make informed choices, and develop positive relationships in a variety of social, educational, and workplace settings.
